Onyx
Produced by fine inter-growths of quartz and morganite, Onyx is a banded variety of chalcedony similar to agate. Its most well known form is Black Onyx, which has been used for jewelry as far back as 2800 B.C. The ancient Egyptians used Onyx for ceremonial cups, bowls, and dishes.
Metaphysical Properties
Traditionally known as a Capricorn stone, Onyx is the most powerful of the grounding stones. It helps individuals be present in the moment, realistic, and quick witted. Carry one when feeling scattered, or easily distracted.
