Cat’s Eye

Cat’s eye is a form of chrysoberyl that forms in many different colors and is well known for its amazing chatoyancy. Chatoyancy is when light reflects off of needle-like inclusions within a mineral, producing a shimmery effect. Cat’s eye is the simplest form of chatoyancy, having only one line of reflective minerals, giving it an appearance similar to a cat’s eye.
