Kunzite

A member of the Spodumene Pyroxene Series, Kunzite is a clear pink to lilac colored gemstone and was named after George F. Kunz, renowned Tiffany & Co. buyer and legendary American mineralogist. Known as the “Evening Stone,” Kunzite is known to fade in bright light and should only be worn as jewelry indoors or as evening wear. President Kennedy had purchased a 47-carat Kunzite ring or his wife Jackie but did not have the chance to give it to her!
