Ruby in Zoisite

Zoisite is a calcium aluminum silicate hydroxide and belongs to the epidote group of minerals. Ruby is the red variety of the mineral corundum. The green zoisite portion of the stone sometimes has black patches due to inclusions of the mineral hornblende. Ruby-zoisite was first discovered in 1954 in Tanzania.

Ruby in Zoisite is also known as anyolite.
